Bad Attitude Checklist
He that seeks trouble always finds it.
English proverb
In her Exchange article, "The Truth About Bad Attitudes," (Exchange, March/April 2011), Gigi Schwiekert talks about the impact of a person with a bad attitude and offers this checklist to see if maybe you exhibit some bad attitudes...
I want others to hear my opinion about almost everything.
I don’t listen to some people.
Sometimes I am thinking about what I am going to say next instead of listening to others.
Sometimes I raise my voice or speak more curtly if they don’t hear me or agree with me.
I monopolize the conversations and don’t let others talk.
I have to have the last word.
No one ever sees my point of view.
I like when people tell me I am right.
Sometimes I have to talk to adults like they are children so they will understand.
I am smarter than everyone else.
I’m never wrong.
If I were wrong, I would never admit it.
People say I am hard to get along with, but they are the ones who are hard to get along with.
I believe there is always a crisis happening at work.
For as long as I have worked here, there has always been a problem.
Sometimes I have to make a scene for others to get my point.
I take things personally; you would, too.
No one ever does things the right way, like I would do them.
I am always the one doing all the work.
No one ever pays me any attention.
