On July 21st the Long Island Power Authority will be releasing a
report that will address the structure of the "New LIPA". Several
different models will have been addressed in the report including
privatization, municipalization and LIPA to remain in its current
state.
To address this situation, the Suffolk County Legislature established
the LIPA Oversight Committee to analyze practices at the authority and
determine whether they are in the best interest of ratepayers. For
those interested several public communication channels have been
established to keep ratepayers informed.
To access reports on the daily activities of the Oversight Committee
and up to the minute news on LIPA go to http://www.lipaoversight.org
, twitter@lipa_oversight
or facebook@lipaoversight
. Public feedback is also encouraged through these links so that the
Oversight Committee can pay close attention to the issues of true
concern to Suffolk County Rate Payers.
